Open Workshop Hours: Shakespeare Monologue Coaching
for ages 14 to adult
Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Working on a Shakespeare monologue for an upcoming audition or competition? Goodly Frame Theatre, in partnership with the Greensboro Branch English Speaking Union, is offering a full day of open house style, drop-in monologue coaching. Stop by when you can and stay for 15 minutes or all day long, your choice! Those who stop by will receive one-on-one coaching. This FREE event is designed to give clarity, deeper understanding, and strength of presentation to the performance of a Shakespeare text. We will address any fears and issues relating to a text of your choice and the performing of it. You will develop a stronger, clearer approach to your chosen text, uncluttered by the confusions sometimes surrounding Shakespeare’s language. You will also gain an increased sense of confidence and enjoyment, with a greater perspective of Shakespeare’s use of embedded stage direction.
Please bring two copies of your Shakespeare monologue or sonnet, preferably memorized.

The GFT Film Club is for Shakespeare enthusiasts who enjoy watching and discussing Shakespeare in film, usually with snacks and a nice glass of wine. We are an informal group of actors and friends who like to be a little nerdy sometimes. Let us know if you'd like to attend the next Film Club meeting, and we'll fill you in on the details. Film club is free!
At our last meeting, we watched Lear's Shadow, a new Independent film with astonishing performances by David Blue, Fred Cross, and Katie Peabody. We gave it 5 out of 5 Huzzahs! You can see Lear's Shadow on iTunes or Amazon Prime.
The next Film Club will likely include A Midsummer Night's Dream, available on Amazon Prime.
